It is Quicker by Rail - East Coast by LNER', LNER poster, c 1930. Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER), promoting 'penny a mile' monthly return tickets to the east coast of Britian, showing a family of holiday- makers seen through the window of their train carriage. The mother is shown reading, while the father is lifting up his young daughter. The son meanwhile, is smiling out of the window, waving a spade. Artwork by Tom Purvis (1888-1957). Printed by Jarrold & Sons Ltd, Norwich and London. Dimensions: 1016mm x 1270mm.
